Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Desir about the violation of the basic rights of Serbs who live in Kosovo-Metohija who have not been able to read newspapers in the Serbian language for four days already.

The authorities in Pristina introduced customs duties of 100 percent on products from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and at the same time banned the distribution of newspapers in the Serbian language in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija.
Brnabic informed Desir about the fact that the Serbs living in the southern Serbian province have been denied the right to information in their native language, which is one of the basic civilisation norms, for four days already.
She appealed to Desir that the OSCE, as an international organisation that deals with the media and media freedom under its mandate, take steps to protect this right of our citizens under urgent procedure.
The Prime Minister said that she expects the OSCE to get involved in resolving this issue, which was agreed upon during the talks with Desir.
The Serbian government will continue to work with the OSCE on this issue intensively.
