Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that transparent and modern administration is crucial for Serbia's sustainable economic growth and pointed out that the digitalisation of society facilitates the fight against corruption.
In an interview for the Think-Tank magazine of the WORLD.MINDS platform, Brnabic referred to all processes of digitalisation in Serbia that have been started and completed, as well as to e-services that are provided to citizens, businesses and investors from the world.
Digitalisation is the basis on which a knowledge-based economy and innovation is created, with the state knowing how to continue the process, she explained.
The Serbian government may be the only government, at least in the region, which has the development of e-government services as a priority in its work.
We fully understand that transparent and modern administration is the key to sustainable economic growth. Through the implementation of an efficient and transparent administration, we are dedicated to the fight against corruption, Brnabic said.
She referred to the digitalisation projects, the introduction of e-government in Serbia, which resulted in saving approximately RSD 225 million, while the state saved RSD 6.7 million on printing paper alone, and the citizens spent a total of 6 million hours less of waiting in queues.
Speaking about innovations and support to start-up companies in our country, Brnabic pointed out that although there are many well-known Serbian companies from the IT sphere in the world, this figure is still small if the potential of our country is taken into account.
That is why the state intends to continue to support this sector, the Prime Minister said.
Speaking about one of the largest WORLD.MINDS conferences that will be held in Belgrade in May 2019, Brnabic said that it will gather the brightest minds of the world from various spheres of life - from business to science - and that this conference has the potential to change the entire region.
