Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended the unveling of a monument to the legendary American actor of Serbian origin, Karl Malden (Mladen Sekulovic) in front of the Yugoslav Film Archives.
Brnabic pointed out that the unveiling of the monument to Karl Malden somewhat changed historical inequality, since we do not pay enough attention to people who, like him, were the best ambassadors of Serbia in the world.
By that we give a signal to everyone who is fighting for Serbia everywhere in the world that we will thank them and remember them, she said.
Minister of Culture and the Media Vladan Vukosavljevic said that the story of Karl Malden is part of a great story about the first Serbian generations who were able to recognise their gift and realise their possibilities.
US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott said that Karl Malden was born in Chicago, in a family that had taught him how to love and be proud of Serbian heritage, stressing that he was a man who represented common values and what is best in the Serbs and in the Americans.
