Brnabic underlined that in Serbia there is a need for six such training centres, with which our country could become a regional leader in training and retraining.
The Prime Minister, together with Head of International Relations of the Siemens Education Programme Juergen Siebel, visited the premises for mechanical and electronic training, which includes the development of applications for the 4.0 industry.
According to Brnabic, an analysis made by the Serbian government, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the German Chamber of Commerce, only for German companies operating in Serbia, has shown that there is a need for six such training centres in Serbia.
This is a huge investment for the state and therefore we are trying to make it a public-private partnership with interested companies. My wish was to come here today, to see how the work is done in Siemens and talk about everything behind such a training centre and how we can make it in Serbia, Brnabic said.
I am particularly impressed by the fact that the students at the Siemens Youth Centre learn theory combined with practice, planning, budgeting, and ultimately control and evaluation, the Prime Minister said.
According to her, people who come out of such training centres are immediately ready for excellent jobs, which will be needed not only for German companies in Serbia, but for all of our country.
Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic, who together with the Prime Minister visited the training centre, pointed out that there is a growing interest from both companies and students in dual education.
Sarcevic said that at the moment there are 32 professions in the dual education system, and that 11 more are being prepared, not only in the field of mechanical engineering and IT sector, but also in the field of construction industry, catering, tourism and other.
We started out with 400 students, and reached 4,500 in only one year, the Minister underlined and added that for some professions, as many as ten students apply for one place.
