Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today in Berlin with President of the Federal Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) Martin Wansleben about economic cooperation between the two countries, the attracting of more German investments, but also about the violation of the CEFTA agreement by Pristina.

Brnabic said that at this moment there are announcements by some German investors that are already present in Serbia that they will expand their operations during 2019.
After the meeting, she pointed out that German investments are a very important part of the Serbian economy, not only because of the number of jobs that they provide and which have already exceeded 50,000, but also because they bring new technology, knowledge, business ethics and a way of management, which in long-term is even more important than the number of jobs.
The Prime Minister presented data from a survey of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce that 85 percent of German investors in Serbia would again decide to invest in our country, underlining that this is the best reference we can give for Serbia.
She said that regional cooperation was also discussed at the meeting and pointed out that Serbia is the biggest market in the region, but that German companies need the entire region as an open market.
Another topic discussed was the problem that we now have with the implementation of the CEFTA agreement and additional duties of temporary institutions in Pristina, which completely violate multilateral agreements, Brnabic underlined.
Wansleben said that the Federal Association of German Chambers of Commerce is satisfied that they have cooperation and strong partnership with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and that German companies are present in Serbia.
It is important that we cooperate and that there are many potentials that we want to use, to invest in Serbia and create jobs, he said.
The meeting with the Prime Minister was also attended by President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez and President of the Serbian-German Chamber of Commerce Ronald Seeliger.
