Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today upon opening a bypass around Bavaniste near Kovin that in the last four years, 160 kilometres of motorways were built in addition to many local roads, and that another 30 kilometres of such roads will be completed by the end of the year.

Road construction of utmost importance for Serbia’s development

Brnabic pointed out that the construction of road infrastructure is important for the arrival of investors and the opening of domestic companies, but also so that we could have more jobs and higher salaries.
She pointed out that more motorways have been built over the last four years than in the last 35 years.
The bypass, which is 5.1 kilometres long and in which RSD 400 million have been invested, is important, first of all for the safety of the local population, i.e. because of the relocation of freight traffic outside Bavaniste where fatal accidents were frequent.
The Prime Minister pointed out that, although someone might say that this is a small project, worth around €4 million, there are no small and big projects for the Serbian government, only those that are important for the citizens.
We will continue to work on each project as it were the biggest because that is important for a better quality of life of all citizens, she underlined.
Brnabic said that negotiations are conducted with 21 potential investors who are interested in coming to Vojvodina, which would open 6,000 new jobs. She added that the Serbian government will strive to bring some of them to the Kovin industrial zone.
The Prime Minister added that a draft master plan for the construction of the Chinese-Serbian free zone in Smederevo has been completed and that it should be adopted by the end of the year by the Smederevo City Assembly so that the construction could start in 2019.
