Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa assessed today in Lisbon that the bilateral relations of the two countries are traditionally good, but that there is room for their improvement, especially when it comes to economic cooperation.

In this regard, Brnabic expressed her hope that an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation will soon be signed between the two countries.
She expressed hope that Serbia and Portugal will improve mutual trade in the future, and stressed that it is important for Serbia to continue to develop and strengthen economy and entrepreneurship.
During the meeting, Costa presented the experience of Portugal in these areas, and especially in support of the development of startup of entrepreneurship.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Portugal's support to Serbia in the field of European integration, and stressed that Serbia's membership in the EU remains our strategic goal.
Brnabic invited the Prime Minister of Portugal to visit Serbia in the upcoming period.
The officials also discussed the potentials of the two countries in the field of information technology and digitisation.
Brnabic congratulated Costa for the Web Summit in Lisbon, which she pointed out as a very significant event for all countries of the world that want to be competitive during the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The Prime Minister is on a one-day visit to Portugal on the occasion of the Web Summit, which takes place in the country's capital.
