Brnabic to address Web Summit in Lisbon

Belgrade, 6 November 2018

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic will take part in a Web Summit in Lisbon today, which, according to Forbes, is the world's best technology conference.

A large number of directors and founders of technology companies, start-ups, representatives of governments, international institutions and media will participate in this event, which will discuss various aspects of the impact of technology on the world and society.

The Prime Minister will speak at the panel on false news, together with Executive Director of Mozilla Michel Baker and Director of the Guardian Media Group David Pemsel. Matthew Garahan from the Financial Times will serve as moderator at the panel.

Brnabic will also participate in a so-called stage interview with German ARD journalist Markus Praise, with whom she will discuss the challenges and results achieved by Serbia in the field of the development of technology industries, creative industries and the potential of new technologies for economic development.

During the visit to Lisbon, Brnabic will meet with Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa.
Participation at the Lisbon Summit is a great recognition and is reserved for world leaders in various fields. At this year's summit, the Serbian Prime Minister speaks on two panels, and the panel about false news is held at the central stage of the summit, in front of approximately 15,000 participants.

The participants and speakers of the Web Summit in Lisbon are United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Microsoft's President Brad Smith, EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, Vice President of Apple Lisa Jackson, Founder of Pinterest Ben Silberman, Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and many others.
