Improving friendly relations with Moldova

Belgrade/Minsk , 31 October 2018

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke with Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip in Minsk today about the improvement of relations between the two countries and confirmed that bilateral relations are friendly and that there is room for further improvement, primarily in the area of economic cooperation.

Brnabic underlined that Serbia greatly appreciates Moldova's position on the non-recognition of Kosovo-Metohija and expressed her gratitude for the support that this state is giving to the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

She reiterated that Serbia's strategic goal is to join the European Union, she informed Prime Minister Filip about the reforms implemented by the Serbian government, whose objective is to improve the standard of living of citizens and a more favourable business environment for the economy.

Filip confirmed that trade between the two countries is increasing, and that there is plenty of room for its further improvement, especially in the field of exports.

Moldova is closely following the reforms that are being implemented in Serbia and wants to make an exchange of experiences, as it needs the strength for change and reforms that Serbia has, he underlined.

The Prime Minister of Serbia received an invitation from the Moldovan Prime Minister to visit Moldova in the coming period.
