Solution for Kosovo issue necessary for Serbia's progress in all areas

Brnabic pointed out that there are many reasons why it is absolutely not in our interest to freeze the conflict in Kosovo-Metohija.
Serbia has a need in many areas to take a step forward in the 21st century, which is not possible with Kosovo’s status quo. We need investments and no one will invest in an area where there is a danger of a potential conflict, explained the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister stressed that the exchange of territories between Serbia and Kosovo would not be the opening of Pandora's box because it was opened 10 years ago, when a group of Kosovo politicians unilaterally proclaimed the independence of the province and a group of countries rushed to recognise it.
We are now trying to close the box, the Prime Minister pointed out, adding that whatever the outcome, the solution for Kosovo must be a compromise, and the placing of "red lines" in the process of seeking a solution is not helpful.
Brnabic also expressed the belief that there is freedom of expression in Serbia and that the government headed by him is trying to set an example of openness to the media.
Freedom of expression and free media are the basic principles of democracy, she added, adding that in the domain of media freedom Serbia still has a lot to do.
Talking about the judiciary, Brnabic said that she has a lot to improve, and that neither the citizens nor the company nor the investors are satisfied with the Serbian judiciary.
This is not only because of the political impact on the judiciary. We need a more independent but more effective and accountable judiciary, the Prime Minister said.
