Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today chaired the Ministerial Council for Innovative Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, which adopted an initiative supporting the equipping of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF), the Innovation Centre of ETF and the workshop of Scientific and Technological Park Belgrade.

The total budget allocated by the Serbian government for this purpose is €5.5 million.
The Innovation Centre of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade is an institution whose results are recognized by domestic and international companies, and new equipment will create better conditions for the development of innovative products, technologies, processes and services in line with market needs.
The Council also adopted an initiative to improve the state infrastructure for the development of the information technology sector, which envisages the design of new 16,000 square meters of Scientific and Technological Park in Belgrade, the completion of a 1,000m2 facility which is in the gray phase and the construction of the first new facility of 4,000m2.
This expansion in the first phase will enable the employment of 300 new engineers, and by the end of the project a total of 1,200.
In NTP Belgrade, in just two years of operation, there are now 60 companies, which employ almost 500 engineers.
The Council noted that the competition for the Support Program for the opening of regional innovation start-up centres has been successfully carried out, and it has supported the development of start-up centres in eight cities of Serbia - Krusevac, Pirot, Subotica, Cacak, Stara Pazova, Valjevo, Zrenjanin and Gornji Milanovac with the total amount of RSD 250 million.
The ICT sector is the fastest growing industry in Serbia.
In the first six months of 2018, the export of ICT services from Serbia increased by 25.6 percent, with exports exceeding €600 million.
