Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that our country is ready to face challenges in the field of information security and to fight high-tech crime together with the leading European countries.
Brnabic said at a conference on high-tech crime and information security that cybercrime damage is worth $600 billion a year in the world and that this amount is higher every year.
The Prime Minister reiterated that digitization is one of the priorities of the government, but also noted that in addition to all the opportunities provided by digitization, it brings a set of new risks that we have to face.
In that sense, as she said, Serbia was among the first to establish a Prosecutor's Office for Combating High-Tech Crime, as well as a special department in the Interior Ministry to fight high-tech crime.
The Interior Ministry has repeatedly received recognition for international cooperation in the fight against cyber crime, and it best speaks of Serbia's resolve to fight it, the Prime Minister underlined.
Brnabic recalled that, among other things, the Strategy for the Development of Information Security was adopted by 2020, which fulfilled the obligation in the process of EU accession.
Serbia is committed to all forms of digitization and we will continue to invest in it in order to take advantage of all the advantages of the era in which we live, and on the other hand, I am proud of the active struggle to fight the threats of all threats and that we have started to fight early enough, she stressed.
The Prime Minister underlined that our country is committed to the safety of citizens, as well as to the economy and society as a whole, in every area, as well as online.
