Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with British Minister for Europe and the Americas Sir Alan Duncan about bilateral relations of the two countries, the situation in the region and Serbia’s progress in the process of European integration.

Serbia committed to continuation of intensive reforms on path to EU

Brnabic expressed gratitude to Great Britain for its continued support to Serbia’s path towards the EU despite Brexit.
Duncan praised the progress Serbia has made in reform processes and said that Great Britain will continue to support Serbia's European integration.
Speaking about reform processes, the Prime Minister explained that, despite the achieved success, primarily in the economic sphere, the Serbian government is committed to more intensive reforms in the areas of rule of law and judiciary, as well as public administration.
Regarding the reform of the judiciary, the Prime Minister explained that Serbia is currently working on the adoption of the recommendations of the Venice Commission, adding that she expects the entire work to be completed by the end of the year.
Brnabic pointed out that Serbia is ready to find a compromise solution with Pristina that will overcome the frozen conflict and achieve lasting stability of the region, stressing the importance of implementation of the Brussels agreement by Pristina, first of all, when it comes to the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
The Prime Minister thanked in particular for the support provided by the UK government through the Good Governance Fund, as technical assistance to reforms aimed at improving the business environment, reforming the judiciary and strengthening political and economic stability of the country.
