Improvement of overall bilateral cooperation with United States

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today in Washington with Senator Ron Johnson, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation of the US Senate, about the improvement of the overall bilateral relations between the United States of America and Serbia.
During the talks, it was highlighted that historic ties of the two countries are very strong, as confirmed by yesterday's ceremony at the US Congress where Senator Johnson spoke, marking 100 years since the Serbian flag was lifted in front of the White House.
Brnabic and Johnson concluded that this is a great basis for further strengthening of cooperation, stressing that they hope for a new phase of relations between Serbia and the United States.
The Prime Minister pointed out that, after numerous meetings in Washington, she feels that this administration has a different attitude towards Serbia.
She expressed her gratitude to Johnson for his commitment to the progress of Serbia and the region within the Subcommittee on Europe of the US Senate.
Senator Johnson, who met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on several occasions, said that Serbia and the Western Balkans are important for the United States and that the United States will continue to support reform processes in the region.
The support of the United States to the European integration process of Serbia is important for us, Brnabic said, adding that Serbia is consistently committed to EU membership and strengthening regional stability and cooperation.
Brnabic and Johnson concluded that this is a great basis for further strengthening of cooperation, stressing that they hope for a new phase of relations between Serbia and the United States.

As a former businessman, Senator Johnson was particularly interested in current economic issues.
Brnabic presented the most important results of structural reforms and stressed that Serbia is open to doing business and that it is a leader in attracting foreign direct investment.
Brnabic and Johnson agreed that support for reform processes is particularly important for attracting new US investment.
The meeting also looked at the improvement of business conditions in Serbia and the region and further economic integration of the Western Balkans.
