Recognition to Serbia for implemented economic, structural reforms

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and continued her visit to Washington D.C., and spoke with US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Brnabic spoke with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim about Serbia's progress in the process of joining the European Union and continuation of economic and structural reforms in order to achieve sustainable economic development.
Serbia is grateful to the World Bank for its support to date, primarily in the areas of energy, health, education, infrastructure, public sector reforms, the development of the financial and small and medium-sized enterprises, said Brnabic.
World Bank President Jim Yong Kim conveyed his impression of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic as a true visionary and strategic leader in the region, who had the courage to start serious reforms.

Brnabic also presented key results in the fields of digitization and education, as a priority of the government of Serbia.
In a cordial and open conversation with US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the overall relationship between Serbia and the United States was discussed.

US companies employ around 17,000 people. Since 2001, the United States has invested around $1 billion in development assistance in Serbia.
It is very important that the trade between Serbia and the United States is constantly increasing. In the first five months of this year, it increased almost 30% compared to the same period last year, Brnabic said.
