Science, art, culture drivers of social, economic development

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today at the opening of the International Congress of the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR), that science, art and culture are key drivers of social and economic development.
Brnabic expressed her satisfaction with the opportunity to welcome more than 1,000 professionals, theoreticians and practitioners of theater and performing arts from around the world.
Serbia has a long-standing theatre tradition that we are proud of. Therefore, organising this prestigious congress gives us an opportunity to show our artists and their creative works to the global audience and to engage in stimulating conversations with representatives of various cultures and with different views, the Prime Minister emphasised.
She pointed out that in the past year we completed the renovation of two of our biggest museums in Serbia – the Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Museum, and invited guests to visit both museums because they will enjoy the Serbian and European art and cultural heritage from Neolithic and Roman times, through the Middle Ages, to the art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Prime Minister also invited guests to visit European music festivals EXIT in Novi Sad, as well as to experience Belgrade and Serbia as a lively, multicultural country at the intersection of the East and West, as a treasury of cultural wealth and heritage.
