Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today in Sofia with representatives of the Chinese company "Huawei", which is the world leader in the production of information and communication systems and mobile phones, which operates in the Serbian market for 12 years.
Brnabic pointed out that Serbia is open and ready to cooperate with the world's leading IT companies.
The Serbian government needs partners such as "Huawei" to help us respond to the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution, she stressed.
In a conversation with representatives of a well-known Chinese company, the Prime Minister emphasised the strong growth of IT sectors in Serbia. IT sector exports this year were up by as much as 32.4% compared to last year, and only in April, exports were as high as 44% compared to the same period last year.
Brnabic stressed that digitization is one of the key priorities of the government of Serbia and that it represents our chance to join the most economically developed countries.
The Prime Minister is leading the Serbian delegation that will take part tomorrow at the Summit of China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
At the business forum in Sofia, more than 250 Chinese companies and approximately 700 business people from China and Central and Eastern Europe will gather.
The meeting with representatives of company "Huawei" was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic.
