Connecting of youth crucial for progress of region

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said in Novi Sad today that young people in the Western Balkans region should exert pressure on political leaders in order to make them more politically active and to work more to improve the living conditions of all citizens of this part of Europe.
Speaking at opening of the Third Regional Youth Forum at the Matica Srpska Gallery in Novi Sad, Brnabic pointed out that at this moment there is a large number of initiatives for regional cooperation, on a political and economic level, noting that dialogue among young people can also be managed through the Berlin Process, of which this forum is part.
If we are politically clever and if all of you young people get active, if you create that energy and pressure us to be politically smarter and more active, I think that the big things are ahead of us in the Western Balkans region, the Prime Minister stated.
She urged young people not to miss a single day to do everything to create growth, both their own personal and of the environment they live in.
Brnabic recalled that next year Novi Sad will be the European Youth Capital, and in 2021 the European Capital of Culture, and that through these two themes, it will be possible to overcome the difficult issues that the region faces.
When we talk about these topics, I think there is no better reason to connect the topics of youth and culture, because culture is important, it expands one’s views and hence tolerance, she underlined.

The Prime Minister expressed her belief that Novi Sad will be the centre of Serbia and the whole region until 2021, and that it will help all of us to further expand the above-mentioned values.
Brnabic said that as the Prime Minister of Serbia, she is an optimist for the region of the Western Balkans.
