Brnabic confirmed that she will make efforts towards resolving all the controversial issues in the dialogue between representatives of ministries and local self-governments.
Local governments pointed to problems they consider to be a violation of local democracy standards, and the appeal was addressed to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, which was supported by the Municipality of Cajetina, the City of Sabac and more than 400 councilors from more than 80 local self-governments.
The regular meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will be held in Istanbul on 28 June and members of the Committee will be informed of this initiative at that meeting.
Until the next meeting of the Committee, held in October, a joint effort should be established towards a dialogue between the relevant ministries and local self-governments in order to resolve open issues.
The first step is to form a working group, which will be run by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, and the first meeting will be held on Monday, 2 July.
