Good business environment crucial for investments

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said during today's talks with a delegation of the “Movement of French companies“ (MEDEF) that she is extremely pleased that many countries, including France, have recognised the positive effects of economic reforms implemented by the Serbian government, which can be seen by an increased presence of French companies on the Serbian market.

Brnabic pointed to the fact that in recent years a lot has been done to make the business environment in Serbia more attractive to foreign investors, adding that the continuation of the reforms will contribute to an even more stable business environment and the arrival of new investments.

The Prime Minister assessed that there is a wide range of possibilities for cooperation with foreign investors thanks to numerous free trade agreements and other legal incentives of the Serbian government.

She recalled that French companies in Serbia already have two large investments - Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, which will be managed by French company Vinci Airports for the next 25 years, and a partnership with a French-Japanese consortium in the construction of a dump site in Vinca.

President of the French-Serbian Business Council Charles Paradis, who led the delegation of MEDEF, said that Serbia has recorded significant economic growth in recent years, which gives more opportunities for investment.

Paradis said that this is the seventh visit of representatives of the MEDEF association to Belgrade, which with its over two decades long presence in Serbia proves how important this market is for French investors.

Representatives of French companies expressed a special interest in participating in road and railway corridors and the cooperation in the field of IT sector was also discussed.
