Poland committed to strengthening cooperation with Serbia

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz about bilateral relations of the two countries, situation in the region and European integration of Serbia.
Brnabic took this opportunity to thank Czaputowicz on the continued support of Poland to the European integration process of Serbia, pointing out that this country is one of the main advocates of the EU enlargement policy.
She said that Serbia is ready for the opening of five new chapters by the end of the year, of which three should be opened during Bulgaria’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Czaputowicz said that today’s visit is a confirmation of good relations between the two countries and that Poland is committed to strengthening cooperation with Serbia both on political and economic level.
Brnabic pointed out that Serbia is committed to the normalisation of relations with Pristina through dialogue, which is being conducted under the auspices of the EU, and that it expects Pristina to constructively approach the implementation of the Brussels agreement in all the segments agreed, which first of all includes the formation of the Community of Serbian municipalities.
Brnabic underlined that the question of the southern Serbian province is very sensitive for Serbia, but that Serbia is ready to continue talks with Pristina with the aim of finding a compromise solution.
The two officials agreed that the relations of the two states are at a high level and that more effort should be invested in strengthening economic cooperation and attracting Polish investments.
