Brnabic said at a press conference that the call for companies will be announced on 1 September. This is a joint campaign of the Serbian government and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as one of the measures to promote birth rate.
The Prime Minister recalled that the most important measure for stimulating birth rate is financial support. With the amendments to the Law on financial support for families, as of 1 July the one-off aid for a firstborn will be RSD 100,000, the monthly allowance for the second child will be RSD 10,000 dinars, for the third child RSD 12,000 per month in the course of 10 years and for the fourth child RSD 18,000 per month in the course of 10 years.
The second measure is a recognition for companies that stimulate work-parenting balance, Brnabic said, and voiced the expectation that the first awards will be given in November, in three categories - small and medium enterprises, large companies and public companies.
Marko Cadez, the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce pointed out that the goal of the Chamber is to contribute to the implementation of the population policies more effectively, to increase awareness of the need to have balance between work and family life and to create "family friendly" companies.
If we do not invest in human capacities, we can hardly count on good business results, Cadez said.
