On this occasion, Brnabic pointed out that the budget is allocated for the first phase of the construction of the aforementioned apartments, and announced that the works will begin no later than September.
According to Brnabic, by the end of 2019, the first phase will be completed in which 1,578 apartments will be built, and the works will also start in Vranje and Nis.
The first phase will begin in six cities – Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Vranje, Kraljevo and Kragujevac, she explained, adding that the apartments will be between 32 and 92 square metres.
Brnabic pointed out that by 2020, a total of 5,203 apartments will be built and that they are already looking for and preparing new locations, noting that already about 19,000 members of the security services have expressed interest in apartments in these six cities.
According to Brnabic, these will be high quality flats with 80% of domestic materials, which will have a positive impact on the domestic construction industry, and they are in the energy class C, which means that they will have 20% lower electricity costs.
