Serbia has potential to be advanced digital society

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that electronic administration is the most effective way of combating corruption and the best way to provide quality and fast service to citizens and the economy.
Brnabic visited competitors of the first state hackathon called #CodeGovernment organised in order to find a solution for the redesign of the national eGovernment portal and said that Serbia should rely more on domestic consciousness and creativity than on foreign corporations, which was the case in the previous the period when it developed the state administration.
This is very costly for the state and thus we become dependent on large foreign companies with which we have developed state administration in the previous period. We need to put a stop to this and to work more with domestic innovators, as well as to include faculties, academies and all citizens in the required digitization process, she said.
The Prime Minister assessed that Serbia has a serious potential to transform itself into an advanced digital society.
