On this occasion, Brnabic pointed out that Italian company “Zoppas” is an example of an investor who works well in Serbia and to whom the Serbian government will give all the necessary support for further work.
With this visit I want to pay tribute for the hard work, because this factory employs 530 workers, which is more than planned when it was opened, the Prime Minister said, adding that the construction of the second plant is underway.
She said that Kikinda was one of the devastated local self-governments in which the leading business giants stopped operating, and many people were left without work.
My visit represents support to this municipality and its team in everything they are doing at the moment. Thanks to the efforts of the local government, the situation is slowly changing, Brnabic pointed out.
The Prime Minister said that creative potential of this municipality is one of the reasons for her visit to Kikinda and recalled that
the Creative Industries Council has been set up.
If Serbia wants to have a faster and more dynamic growth of GDP, it must develop non-traditional industries, she underlined.
I wanted the first meeting of the Creative Industries Council to be held in Mokrin where there is a already a centre for creative industries, Mokrin House. Also, I wanted to show that Kikinda has other potentials too, and not only the “Toza Markovic” brickworks and a foundry that we must put back on their feet, Brnabic concluded.
