The Prime Minister started the visit to this municipality by touring Uzun Cuprija, the bridge on River Jasenica, where the reconstruction of the embankment is underway, after which she visited the Stefan Visoki General Hospital, for whose renovation the Public Investments Office had approved a project worth RSD 1 billion.
She also visited the pumping station and spoke with heads of the interim municipal authority.
Brnabic said that more than €2.5 million have been invested in the region after the 2014 floods, that slightly more than €8.5 million has been invested in the reconstruction of the hospital in Smederevska Palanka, while projects for reconstruction of water supply, worth €4 million, are also ready.
Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, who visited the Stefan Visoki General Hospital in Smederevska Palanka together with the Prime Minister, said that RSD 35 million dinars have already been invested in the procurement of equipment for this health institution, among other things for ultrasound and X-ray devices.
He pointed out that a new department of gynaecology was built in the hospital, and that RSD 28 million have been allocated for the rehabilitation of a building that is old and energy-inefficient.
By the end of the year, we will start with complete renovation and this will be the first institution of secondary health care in Serbia that is completely renovated, Loncar underlined, adding that due to the lack of professional staff in the hospital in Smederevska Palanka, doctors from Belgrade will come for surgeries of cataract, knee, laparoscopy and other procedures, and that they will be working on the training of doctors from that municipality.
