As the Prime Minister of Serbia pointed out at the meeting with Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic, Belgrade respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina, with full respect for the provisions of the Dayton Agreement, and underlined that good relations in the region are a condition of stability and progress.
The delegation which included Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan, Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, Director of the Public Investment Management Office Marko Blagojevic and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez, spoke with representatives of Republika Srpska about the assistance worth €5.5 million which the Serbian government released in September last year for solving the daily needs of local communities in Republika Srpska, such as the construction and rehabilitation of local roads, bridges, kindergartens and schools.
The strengthening of economic cooperation and improving the living conditions of all citizens is the key to stability in the region, which will greatly contribute to cooperation in the fields of agriculture, tourism, energy and infrastructure – the projects of the Belgrade-Sarajevo road, Ljubovija-Bratunac bridge and further work on energy projects, especially on the Drina River.
The Prime Minister and the delegation of Serbia also participated in the conference on energy sovereignty and they also attended the opening ceremony of the Banjaluka eco-heating plant, whose development was greatly assisted by the Vinca Institute from Belgrade, as well as the Belgrade faculties of technology, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
This shows that the knowledge and innovativeness of our experts in this field is not far behind the developed countries, Brnabic concluded.
Serbia is one of the largest investors in Republika Srpska, and the total commodity exchange between January and October 2017 amounted to €537.8 million, which is 10.7 percent more than in the same period of 2016.
