Continuation of strong support of Italy to Serbia

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic received today on a farewell visit Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo, to whom she expressed her gratitude for his outstanding commitment and contribution to the improvement of relations between the two countries.
Brnabic said that the relations between Serbia and Italy are friendly, without open issues and that they are characterised by mutual support in issues of strategic interest.
Ambassador Manzo, who will continue his diplomatic career as Ambassador to Argentina, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Brnabic and the Government of Serbia for their support during his mandate in Serbia.
He stressed that Italy will continue with strong and continuous support to Serbia in the field of European integration, the fight against corruption and in the domain of the rule of law, and it will continue to support the policy of regional stability.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia is extremely respectful of the efforts made by Italy in the context of the preparation of the EU Strategy for the Western Balkans.
The interlocutors agreed that both countries are committed to the further improvement of relations, primarily through economic cooperation, for which there is great potential.
