"Today's holiday is a symbol of the struggle for rights and equality of women throughout the world. This day is a reason to recall the struggle for women's rights, to win the political, economic and cultural rights of women.
Even in some developed European countries, women gained the right to vote just a few decades ago. The struggle for the equal right to education of women, of which one of the symbols in the modern world is Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yusufi, and the struggle for the equal economic and social status of women, are topics that show that this process is still very important today.
Winning freedom and equality requires the courage and perseverance of all of us. The modern life brings us new challenges that remind us that the entire society must fight for the emancipation of women.
The education and improvement of their economic and social status have always been crucial. Only in this way, by joint forces, do we create a society in which there is no gender discrimination and that offers equal opportunities for all male and female citizens of Serbia," reads the letter of the Prime Minister.
