Prime Minister Ana Brnabic assessed today during the talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze that Serbia and Georgia are friendly countries and that two peoples have a similar culture, tradition and historical experience, which is a good starting point for the improvement of overall relations.
Brnabic stressed that an important moment in bilateral relations is the principle of mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries and thanked Georgia for the principled non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia assessed that the potential of economic cooperation between Serbia and Georgia is underused given that the two countries signed the Agreement on Economic and Commercial Cooperation.
Janelidze stressed that the holding of the Business Forum in Georgia is a good opportunity for contacts between Serbian and Georgian businessmen and for planning future joint projects.
Brnabic pointed out that signing an agreement in the area of public administration reform, which refers to the improvement of public administration services and the creation of a more efficient and transparent administration, represents a significant step in improving cooperation in this area.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia called on Prime Minister Brnabic to participate in the Open Government Partnership summit, which will be held in Tbilisi in July this year, with the participation of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
Janelidze said that representatives of more than 70 countries will participate at the summit in order to promote their achievements and discuss challenges in adhering to the principles of an open government.
