After the talks with representatives of local self-government in Bor and visiting the complex, Brnabic recalled that mining is the most important resource that this region has, adding that RTB Bor fully applies the reorganisation plan, that it has come back on its feet and fulfils all its obligations.
We expect the profit of the RTB Bor this year to be 15% higher than in 2017. RTB Bor needs additional investments and we are looking for a strategic partner because small investments can significantly increase production, the Prime Minister explained.
Talking about finding a strategic partner, Brnabic said that the state should not rush with that because RTB Bor is an important compaany not only for Bor and this part of Serbia, but for the whole country and doing things hastily can lead to some consequences that it is better not have, Brnabic stated, adding that there are strategic partners who are interested.
She explained that Canadian companies are interested in additional investments in Bor for additional mines.
The Serbian government will pay special attention to the protection of the environment and the protection of villages in the vicinity of Bor, but full potentials of mining will be used.
The second big potential of Bor is tourism, and especially the film industry, the Prime Minister said and recalled hat the budget for the film industry has been increased.
I hope that Bor will be the destination for shooting new films from Europe, America, as well as domestic films, Brnabic said, adding that Lazar’s Cave, Crni Vrh mountain and Lake Bor represent the great tourist potential of this region.
The Prime Minister added that the Serbian government adopted and submitted to the Serbian parliament the proposal that Bor be granted the status of the city.
