Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and representatives of local government visited today the location of a housing block in Dositejeva Street in Kraljevo, where the construction of 366 apartments for the residents of that city, whose apartments were damaged in the 2010 earthquake, is to begin.
Brnabic said that this is the first phase in which a building with 106 apartments will be built, and that works, which should not last more than 18 months, will begin in April.
She pointed out that the government, together with the Development Bank of the Council of Europe, provided €13 million for these purposes, and that 366 families, whose residential buildings were devastated in the 2010 earthquake, will get decent living conditions.
The Prime Minister added that construction of apartments for members of the security service in Kraljevo will also begin and that the first phase of construction of 200 apartments will start in August or September.
Brnabic also visited a location in the Beranovac settlement, on which a 800-square-foot kindergarten will be built, which will be able to accommodate more than a hundred children.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the construction of the Morava Corridor is the most important thing for the Serbian government, and also expressed the expectation that the construction of the Preljina-Pozega road will begin by the end of 2018, which will create a condition for the construction of the Morava Corridor.
The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure intensively negotiates with investors and potential contractors for the Morava Corridor. This will connect corridors 10 and 11, and I hope that works will start in 2019, the Prime Minister pointed out.
The airport in Ladjevci will then become focus, she added, and reiterated that it is much more important to finish what has been started than to accumulate grandiose projects.
