Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said at the opening of the third national conference of the Serbian government and the economy "Way out of the gray economy" that this year a unique information platform e-inspector will be launched, which by June will network four inspection services.
Brnabic said that this platform will better connect and coordinate the work of the inspections in Serbia, explaining that by mid-2019, 42 inspection services will be networked, which will introduce full transparency in the work of these services.
The Prime Minister announced that more than 70 sectoral regulations with the Law on Inspection Supervision will be harmonised over the next six months, and stressed that in the next three years more inspectors will be employed and inspection services will be strengthened with the purchase of new IT equipment.
German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann underlined that the gray economy is an important issue not only for Serbia, but for the whole world, stressing that regulating this problem is of crucial importance on Serbia's path to EU membership.
Serbia's strategic goal is to enter the EU, which Germany supports, the Ambassador said, adding that this was once again confirmed by the statement of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sofia and during a recent visit of the Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel to Belgrade.
Germany has invested €1.8 million in support of the fight against corruption in Serbia, and many positive effects have been achieved, the Ambassador said, and noted that the current focus is on the work of public administration and control of public finances.
