Director of the Public Investment Management Office Marko Blagojevic attended the meeting.
Brnabic described the cooperation to date with this institution as very successful and singled out the opening of the Clinical Centre in Nis, which was opened in December last year, as one of the most important projects.
Through the realisation of this project, this is the first time that a clinical centre in Serbia has been fully completed.
According to her, the great success achieved by the opening of this centre will be a turning point for other projects too – the clinical centres in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Kragujevac, whose implementation is expected to take place.
Scannapieco expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Brnabic for successful cooperation, and announced that he will present the overall results achieved in Serbia and the Western Balkans during the past year, as well as prospects and planned strategies under the Economic Resilience Initiative (ERI) for 2018.
Brnabic and Scannapieco identified the reconstruction and construction of the water supply system as a project of urgent importance, whose total value would be €50 million, of which €40 million would be provided through a loan of the European Investment Bank, while the remaining €10 million would be financed from non-refundable grants, which would also be provided by this institution.
The loan in the given amount is included in the 2018 budget of EIB. An analysis and proposal of the programme for the reconstruction and construction of the water supply system, which is vitally important for Serbia, have been made, and the adoption of that programme will be the final precondition for the realization of the project.
Brnabic said that one more priority goal is the process of introduction of digitization in schools, the necessity for every educational institution to provide its students with internet connection and adequate programmes.
The Prime Minister stressed that negotiations with the European Commission are ongoing on how to provide funds for achieving this goal as soon as possible.
