Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited today the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, where the conceptual solution for the reconstruction of the Bojan Stupica theatre was presented, which has been closed since 2015 for security reasons.
On this occasion, Brnabic pointed out that the City of Belgrade and the Yugoslav Drama Theatre will have full support from the Serbian government for reconstruction, saying that the value of this project is high, but that this investment will quickly be returned to Belgraders and entire Serbia.
I'm sorry that due to many hardships Serbia has been going through, culture has lost its importance. We have forgotten how much culture is important for all of us. Culture is something without which we cannot have a strong Serbia with sustainable and strong economic growth, the Prime Minister pointed out.
She added that without culture we cannot have generations with broad education either, who think creatively and can give Serbia an additional value.
We will do everything to bring culture back into the centre of our thinking because by investing in culture we are strategically investing in our development and future, the Prime Minister underlined.
