At the Second Annual Conference, on the occasion of the release of the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business 2018 report, Brnabic said that the challenge will be greater as the country is getting closer to the top.
She recalled that Serbia has made progress on the global list of competitiveness by 12 places, and last week at a summit in Vienna we were voted the best country in the region of Southeast Europe by the criteria of reforms implemented.
The Prime Minister underlined that all this shows how much is being done to improve the business climate in Serbia for attracting new investments.
Brnabic stressed that we are aware that new investments are the driving force of the economy, recalling that the greatest progress this year has been achieved in the category of building permits, and that Serbia is now ranked the 10th country in the world in the ease of issuing building permits.
Brnabic noted that great merit for this goes to the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED).
In addition, the government launched a project to abolish the mandatory use of seals, which is a complete anachronism in 2017, she said, adding that e-government is one of the biggest challenges for her as it is a universal response to corruption, efficiency and transparency.
