Serbia is currently participating in four EU military operations, one of only four states outside the EU that signed the Administrative Arrangements for Co-operation with the European Defence Agency, and recently became part of the EU's fighting groups by joining the HELBROC Battlegroup led by Greece.
At today's meeting, it was stressed that the EU recognises and appreciates the active and constructive contribution of Serbia within the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy, which builds mutual trust, develops capacities and strengthens their interoperability, and jointly contributes to global peace and security.
The talks with General Kostarakos, who is on a two-day visit to Serbia, was an opportunity to discuss new initiatives and opportunities for further strengthening of Serbia-EU cooperation in this area, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
