During the talks on the margins of the Belgrade Security Forum, the two officials exchanged views on further progress of Serbia in the process of European integration, the Berlin Process and on improvement of visibility of the European Union in Serbia.
Dacic and Danielsson agreed that the speech of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on the state of the Union provides additional impetus for progress and outlines more clearly the European perspective of Serbia.
They voiced hope that new negotiation chapters will be opened by the end of the year and in this way the current dynamics of Serbia's accession negotiations will be maintained.
In addition, Dacic and Danielsson have agreed that the Berlin Process is an extremely positive initiative, from a political and economic point of view, which contributes to the stabilisation of the region, as well as to the articulation of common interests.
Although the EU is Serbia's biggest trading partner, and given that membership in the Union is Serbia's main strategic goal, the interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to work together to improve the visibility of the European Union in Serbia, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
