Dacic expressed his gratitude to the European Union for its support, as well as for the personal commitment of Commissioner Stylianides in providing assistance to Serbia in regulating the migrant crisis and adequate treatment of migrants.
He recalled that this crisis is a common problem which no country can solve alone, but requires mutual cooperation and solidarity, and expressed the hope that, accordingly, the European Union will continue to support Serbia.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that from the very beginning of the crisis, Serbia has demonstrated through its humane and responsible actions that it shares common values with the European Union.
According to him, Serbia will remain committed to finding a comprehensive and compromise solution to the crisis, whereby it is ready to continue to contribute, but also to take on part of its obligations.
Stylianides stressed that he decided to visit Serbia again to express his support and announced that the EU will give a €4 million assistance to our country for the implementation of humanitarian projects for migrants.
He noted that since 2015 the EU has been the greatest donor to Serbia regarding assistance for emergency situations.
Serbia has shown to be a reliable partner, on whose cooperation the EU can count in difficult circumstances, the European Commissioner underlined and stressed that during this visit he has seen that significant progress had been made in ensuring the conditions for migrants.
