Ilic told a press conference that the Tax Administration has already suspended the collection of property taxes in these municipalities and he expressed the conviction that the other affected areas will be partly or entirely exempted from this tax as well.
He recalled that that the distribution of property tax bills for 2005 is in progress and that the deadline to pay the second instalment of the advance is May 15.
According to him, this year’s property tax bills have been increased against last year’s by the amount of the retail price growth.
Ilic said that the Tax Administration has so far processed 7,723 annual income tax returns of citizens who made more than 986,640 dinars.
Ilic also said that the year 2005 will be marked by the combat against grey economy and he added that the results of the work of tax police have been improving. According to him, tax police have seized five trucks loaded with white goods worth more than €250,000.
