Serbian Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic, who also chairs the Serbian government's Crisis Centre for sanation of consequences of floods in central Banat said last night that 166 million dinars have been given so far as aid to inundated areas and pointed out the Serbian government's promise that it will repair everything that has been damaged. He said that funds for the repair have already been secured.

Speaking in an interview to Radio Television of Serbia, Ilic said that the government has done everything in its power to help the citizens of flooded areas by sending them financial aid and foodstuffs.
Together with Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo and Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic, Ilic was on the field in flooded areas.
Speaking about safety on the Danube bridge near Beska, Ilic said that experts prepared a report stating that the bridge is completely safe for traffic. There are damages that are the result of the bridge's age, but a €72 million loan has been approved at the government's session, of which €53 million will be used for the construction of a new bridge and repair of the existing one near Beska.
