Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated today that Serbia will not be a collective centre for refugees, but that it will behave humanely and according to law towards the small number of refugees who have remained in Serbia after the closing of the Western Balkan migrant route.
Commenting on the closing of the Balkan route, Vucic said that Serbia is acting in line with actions on the ground of Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Hungary and added that it will continue to act like that in the future too.
He reiterated that Serbia will treat refugees in its territory in line with public and humanitarian international law. Serbia will show its humane face, but it will not forget its own national interests.
Vucic noted that not even after the EU-Turkey Summit has the EU come up with a comprehensive solution to the current migrant crisis.
