Increased control of migrants passing through Serbia

Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic stated today that the control of all migrants passing through Serbia is being increased since the state is looking for a solution so that citizens do not feel pressure once the daily number of migrants passing through Serbia reaches 9,000.

Stefanovic said at a press conference at the Palace of Serbia that this is important from the security aspect too, and reiterated that the migrants passing trough Serbia are being registered, which will make it easier for the countries which are the final destinations for refugees.
The Minister announced that he will visit together with Police Director Vladimir Rebic the migrants passing through the Republic of Macedonia.
According to Stefanovic, it is important that the Republic of Macedonia, which receives migrants directly before us, get included in the registration process because some EU countries refuse to accept economic migrants.
