Vucic said at a press conference held on the occasion of the report that, although the report is based on a new methodology and analysis of results, for the most part it fairly reflects what Serbia has made.
He expressed gratitude to the Commission on the positive assessments, as well as Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Han, Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia Michael Davenport and all those who have said that Serbia is definitely and unequivocally on the European path and the path of reform.
If we compare the results and assessments for countries in the region, Serbia has much to be proud of, maybe a little more than others, the Prime Minister stated.
According to Vucic, in the key sectors of society, especially in economics, the Commission found a number of good results and great progress, and also acknowledged the huge efforts that Serbia invested to preserve stability and good relations in the region.
Also, he added that Serbia's activities are commended in the field of solving the migrant crisis.
In 33 of the 34 analysed chapters, Serbia has made progress. In one part, progress was assessed as certain, and in one as good, the Prime Minister reiterated and emphasised that only in one chapter there was no progress nor setbacks.
Vucic said that it speaks positively about our country, but that much remains to be done in the future. He said that Serbia does not agree with all the remarks, but added that what is most important is that progress was noted in almost all fields.
