Vucic said at a joint news conference with Minister of State for European Affairs at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Harlem Desir that he hopes that next year cooperation between the two countries will be even better and more diverse.
The Prime Minister said that he spoke with the French Minister of State about the Report of the European Commission on Serbia's progress in the negotiations with the EU, and about Serbia’s European path.
Desir said that, according to what he has heard, the report of the European Commission on Serbia’s progress will be very positive, by which the EU clearly shows that Serbia belongs to this community of European states.
He said that this report marks the progress and success of Serbia in view of the fact that first negotiation chapters will be opened soon.
This comes two years after the beginning of negotiations, i.e. two years after obtaining candidate status, Desir said.
He said that his country will do everything so that Serbia could make progress on its path towards the EU since Serbia is a strategic partner of France, and underlined that economic relations between the two countries will improve through projects that French companies will carry out in Serbia.
Desir said that France wants Serbian investors to come to France and that they are expecting them with impatience.
He said that his visit to Serbia shows once again the support of France and the friendship between the two countries.
