Stefanovic said at a press conference that several persons suspected of drug trafficking, including one of the biggest drug lords in the Balkans – M.T. from Novi Pazar and M.N., one of the biggest drug traffickers in Serbia, have been arrested today.
The Minister stated that M.N. has been arrested with three more persons in one of the operations in Novi Sad, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office for Organised Crime and the Security and Information Agency.
In cooperation with the French police, four people from Kula, Krusevac, Novi Pazar and Kraljevo were arrested, as well as nine persons in France on the basis of the information from the Department for Combating Organised Crime of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior.
It is an international criminal group dealing with smuggling of weapons in the territory of Serbia and France, Stefanovic said, adding that the largest arms smuggling chain between the two countries has thus been cut.
The Minister said that B.B. from Kumanovo was arrested at the Brnjak administrative crossing on an Interpol warrant, who is suspected of involvement in terrorist attacks in Macedonia in the period from January to May.
Stefanovic specified that B. B. was providing logistic support for terrorist attacks on the police and civilians in Macedonia.
