Comprehensive solution to migrant crisis necessary

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated today that our country expects from Europe a comprehensive solution to the migrant crisis, and added that Serbia is ready to assume its share of responsibility.

Vucic said in an interview with Reuters that the European Union has shown weakness in solving the refugee crisis.
He said that many countries took resources for solving the crisis caused by the large number of refugees from European funds, but when faced with the first difficulties and when they had to demonstrate genuine European values, they were not ready to do so.
According to Vucic, Serbia is the first country to register migrants who have passed through its territory.
We would like to be part of the solution and have already offered our help, support and services in the future. We are not members of the Union, but when someone says that we should act as a member and assume our share of the burden – that two or three thousand people to stay in our country, we will do it, he said.
The Prime Minister said that action should be taken at the root of the crisis, between Syria and Turkey, and real war refugees should be separated from economic migrants as soon as they enter the first EU country, whether it be Greece or some other country.
