New investments provide employment for 7,437 people

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced today that €576 million has been invested in Serbia during the past year of the government’s mandate, which allowed the opening of 7,437 jobs.

Vucic said in an interview with the magazine "Nedeljnik" that 62 projects are in the preparation, which should ensure the investment of €993 million and the opening of approximately 32,850 jobs in the upcoming years.
According to Vucic, the unemployment rate in Serbia at the end of 2014 decreased to 16.8%, which is 5.6% less compared to the end of 2012.
The great success of the government is that the budget deficit in the first quarter of this year amounted to RSD 21.4 billion, compated to RSD 75.2 billion in the same period last year, the Prime Minister adding that Smederevo steel plant will in May to become profitable.
He noted that about talk on HIP Petrohemija Pancevo are underway with Turks, on Azotara Pancevo with Azerbaijanis, while German and Italian investors are interested in FAP and Prva Petoletka.
