Dacic said at a regular press conference that our country will play the role of a fair intermediary in the peaceful resolution of conflicts, adding that it will take a lot of work and wisdom to head this organisation.
The first opportunity will be on 15 January at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, which will mark the formal takeover of functions by the former chairperson of Switzerland.
Dacic announced that in the meantime he will visit several European capitals to discuss the Serbian presidency of the organisation.
According to Dacic, on 18 December he will go to Paris to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Loran Fabijus, and on 19 December he will visit Moscow, and Kiev on 22 December.
He recalled that Heidi Tagliavini, special representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office to the Trilateral Contact Group with Russia and Ukraine, informed him she accepts the proposal to remain in the office.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the most important event next year will be the 22nd ministerial meeting of the OSCE in Belgrade, which will be held on 3-4 December.
Dacic said he will visit Latvia on 10 December, as it will on 1 January 2015 take over a six-month presidency of the European Union.
Dacic said he will go to Brussels on 17 December to attend the second meeting of the Council for Stabilisation and Association EU-Serbia.
He confirmed that Serbia will continue to defend its national interests when it comes to Kosovo and that he and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic reached an agreement on how to make a more extensive list of contacts with countries that have not recognised Kosovo.
He announced that certain actions are made for the prime ministers of Serbia, Hungary and China to sign an agreement on the revitalisation of the Belgrade-Budapest railroad during the upcoming summit of leaders of China and 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe in Belgrade.
The advantage of Serbia is that it has already prepared the project, given that China wants to invest €10 billion in the region of Southeast Europe.
Referring to the arrival of a Chinese Prime Minister to Serbia after 30 years, Dacic said it is a historic visit.
According to Dacic, the summit of China and 16 central and southern European countries in Belgrade is of great importance not only for our region but for the whole of Europe.
