Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dacic voiced hope that negotiating chapters 32 and 35 will be opened by the end of the year, noting that this primarily depends on the opinion of Berlin.
He pointed out that the new report on Serbia's progress in the European integration process will likely be the most positive so far, but that it will also contain objections.
One of the objections will refer to the plan to build the South Stream pipeline, while a positive opinion regarding the holding of Pride Parade is expected.
Dacic underlined that the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Serbia on 16 October on the occasion of marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in World War II is very important for our country.
He recalled that a special group for the organisation of this visit has been formed, while all activities will be coordinated by the Office of President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, in cooperation with the Office of Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dacic announced that Serbia will soon appoint ambassadors to all vacancies, including those in Germany and the United States of America.
He said that Serbia has 11 vacant ambassadorial posts, and there will be another six to seven, since the four-year term of some ambassadors is expiring.
By the end of the year, more than 20 most important positions of ambassadors and consuls general should be filled.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the goal is to fill all open diplomatic posts, as well as to respect diplomatic procedures and do not publish the names of ambassadors before they send their requests for credentials, which is why Serbia has repeatedly been criticised.
